Here's how a(n) Designer for our Nassal office contributes to our team:

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with the client and the design manager to develop designs by producing complex technical shop drawings generated from all specifications, concepts, preliminary sketches, and schematics provided.
  • Participates in team meetings to coordinate design requirements, options and ideas for building the project.
  • Develops and maintains schedules and task durations for the design phase of the project.
  • Follows best practices of design and fabrication by building a robust network of connections to skilled trades workers and project management, as well as advocating for design studio standards throughout the design process.
  • Researches and seeks new and innovative design and construction methods and processes.
  • Leads revisions of designs and plans to comply with modified specifications made due to design intent changes, review comments, and construction, eventually resulting in as-built drawings.
  • Leads the QA/QC process for all drawings and specifications to ensure overall accuracy and quality standards are met.
  • Reviews and manipulates electronic files received from consultants and clients; organizes and distributes transmittals to team members upon receipt.
  • Reviews and analyzes architectural, engineering, and structural drawings and codes throughout the project to assist in identifying and addressing inconsistencies in the overall project.
  • Attends project meetings either with the Design Manager or independently representing the design team, as appropriate; and communicates applicable information to relevant parties.

Qualifications

  • 4 years of progressive experience in a production environment preferred.
  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in Design, Architecture, Engineering, Construction, or a related discipline (or trade experience or equivalent) preferred.
  • Proven verbal and written communication skills with the ability to negotiate and present ideas and content that influence a favorable outcome.
  • Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD 2D & 3D, Rhino, and Revit, or similar software.
  • Ability to apply design, architectural, engineering, and fabrication/production knowledge, and practices dependably and efficiently.
  • Advanced proficiency in technical drawings and constructability, 3D modeling, Quality Assurance & Quality Control practices, and BIM coordination.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders and decision makers.
  • Advanced skills using Microsoft Office Suite and other applicable systems.
