Responsibilities
- Reviews work order and shop drawings to ensure the necessary information is provided for fabrication.
- Reviews the scope to be performed to ensure an understanding of the scope, the budget, and the timeline requested for completion.
- Creates the list of deliverables within the Inventory Management software system and provide tags to the respective foremen.
- Performs a daily tracking of the project schedule and reports on discrepancies to the fabrication manager and production manager.
- Provides input to a recovery plan for project schedule discrepancies to the fabrication manager and production manager
- Contributes to cost projections during production reviews for the scope of work.
- Identifies issues in defined scopes of work.
- Determines trackable production units for the specific scope of work
- Performs routine checks of items to ensure they are documented as per the Specifications and saves all necessary documents within the Work Order folders as needed.
- Coordinates & schedules routine safety inspections with Safety Manager and follows up as needed on any resulting safety items requiring action.
- Effectively communicates with internal and external stakeholders, as required.
Qualifications
- Detailed knowledge of fabrication drawings and specifications, project health, safety and environment (HSE), quality, and required standards per discipline.
- Strong planning, organization, and time-management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize own work.
- Detailed knowledge of fabrication equipment and techniques, methods, and building materials.
- Proven critical thinking skills.
- Understanding of material, labor, and equipment takeoffs
- Understanding of project schedules and ability to identify the critical path.
- Working knowledge of scheduling software and productivity rates.
- Ability to understand and apply basic construction principles to problem solve
- Ability to work independently or in a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication with the ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, trade partners, and direct reports
- Strong skills using Microsoft Office Suite and other applicable systems
