We are looking for technical designers/drafters. The Nas Tech Designer 3 is part of a fast-paced design team tasked with the execution of technical designs and drawings for Nassal’s in-house fabrication team. This position is focused on the development of working drawings, within company and industry standards and codes. Applicants should have an understanding of materials and fabrication methodologies for the themed entertainment and construction industries.
Responsibilities
- Assists the design team in the development of designs by refining complex technical shop drawings.
- Attends team meetings to coordinate design requirements, options and ideas for building the project.
- Follows best practices of design and fabrication by building a robust network of connections to skilled trades workers and project management, as well as advocating for design studio standards throughout the design process.
- Revises designs and plans to comply with modified specifications made due to design intent changes, review comments, and construction, eventually resulting in as-built drawings.
- Participates in the QA/QC process for their work product drawings and specifications to ensure overall accuracy and quality standards are met.
- Effectively communicates with internal and external stakeholders, as required.
- Develops and maintains strong customer focused relationships with all stakeholders.
- Values and models, the solution provider and profitability culture.
Qualifications
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Intermediate proficiency in AutoCAD 2D & 3D with a working knowledge of Rhino, Revit, or similar software.
- Basic knowledge of design, architectural, and/or engineering.
- Basic understanding of technical drawings and constructability, 3D modeling, and/or BIM coordination.
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated critical thinking skills.
- Intermediate skills using Microsoft Office Suite and other applicable systems.
