The salary range for this position is $73,000 - $96,000 annually depending on background and experience.
Here's how a(n) Accountant for our Seattle office contributes to our team:
Responsibilities
- Process Financial Transactions: Collect, reconcile, approve, and process trade partner payments, general expenditures, and payroll allocations through PCL systems, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
- Forecast Reviews: Participate in monthly forecast review meetings, providing input on recoveries and reconciliations.
- Ad Hoc Reporting: Provide project teams with necessary reports and analyses.
- Year-End Procedures: Assist with year-end financial activities.
- Client Billing: Assemble and process client billing packages, ensuring timely payments.
- Financial Reporting: Gather information for internal and external financial reports.
- Bank Transactions: Prepare bank deposits and monthly reconciliations.
- Contract Analysis: Review monthly contract reports for accuracy and follow up on irregularities.
- Documentation Compliance: Ensure all required documentation is in place.
- Risk Management: Identify and address compliance and project risks.
- Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits.
- Stakeholder Communication: Resolve issues with internal and external stakeholders.
- Special Assignments: Support finance and risk management with special tasks.
- Relationship Building: Develop strong, customer-focused relationships.
- Additional Duties: Perform other tasks as needed.
Qualifications
- Postsecondary degree or diploma in a related discipline.
- Pursuing an Accounting designation is an asset.
- 2-4 years of accounting experience in construction or a related industry preferred.
- Advanced understanding of full-cycle accounting and project forecasting and budgeting.
- Intermediate knowledge of government legislation and generally accepted accounting principles.
- Knowledge of project costing principles, recoveries, insurance, and contract/subcontract requirements as related to accounting.
- Compliance with labor agreements, government legislation, and PCL policies and procedures.
- Understanding of owner contracts as they relate to payment terms, billing requirements, audit rights, and cost-of-work definition, insurance, and bonding.
- Strong management skills, with the ability to delegate and coordinate activities and lead and motivate employees.
- Proficiency in of Microsoft Office Suite and experience with accounting software.
