Here's how a(n) Senior Project Manager for our Seattle office contributes to our team:
Responsibilities
- Develops, implements, and maintains the project safety program, fostering a strong safety culture through mentorship and example.
- Leads job site tours and safety inspections to ensure compliance with safety policies, procedures, and environmental standards.
- Reviews incidents, near misses, HSE reports, and statistics; attends progress meetings; and drives improvements to meet safety, legislative, and environmental requirements.
- Liaises with clients to ensure project delivery aligns with safety, quality, and contractual standards.
- Supports business development by contributing to estimates, trade contractor coordination, proposals, and presentations.
- Oversees the quality management plan and promotes a culture of quality with stakeholder engagement.
- Understands client goals and proposes value engineering solutions that enhance functionality, cost, or schedule while maintaining value-added outcomes.
- Develops or oversees the Project Execution Plan (PEP) in collaboration with the superintendent.
- Coordinates and manages design deliverables to support permitting, procurement, production, construction, and commissioning, ensuring client review and approval.
- Reviews design for compliance, scope, cost efficiency, code adherence, safety, sequencing, and constructability, resolving issues with the design team.
- Ensures design documentation is complete, accurate, and aligned with construction needs at each design stage.
- Oversees project performance reporting across schedule, cost, equipment, manpower, materials, safety, environment, forecasting, quality, and QUEST programs.
- Monitors production and team performance to ensure project objectives for time, cost, and quality are achieved.
- Identifies scope gaps, technical risks, and coordination needs from design documents.
Qualifications
- Postsecondary education or training in engineering, construction management, or a related discipline.
- Gold Seal certification (CDN).
- 15+ years of progressive construction experience with multiple contract delivery types as a leader and mentor preferred.
- 12 months of estimating or related experience preferred.
- In-depth knowledge and application of safety and environment principles/ procedures/legislation.
- In-depth knowledge of construction industry and company operations, including building materials, construction specifications, methods and procedures, safety and quality management practices for large, complex, and more diverse projects.
- Experience with diverse project types, delivery and construction methods, and sequencing and timelines.
- Strong knowledge of and ability to apply project construction laws and building codes and to leverage such knowledge.
- Understanding of and experience with collective agreements and jurisdiction assignment for multi-trade sites.
- Thorough understanding of insurance, bonding, and legal requirements.
- Effective verbal, written, presentation, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated flexibility and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to monitor and forecast project resources and staffing for the project.
- Ability to identify staffing and hourly labor issues.
