We are currently seeking a construction manager with strong experience managing water and wastewater projects to join our civil team. Here's how a Construction Manager for our Calgary office contributes to our team:

Responsibilities

  • Fosters a strong safety culture.
  • Leads and supports multiple large, complex civil and/or water/wastewater projects, ensuring safety, budget, quality, schedule and profitability.
  • Participates in securing new work through business development, estimates, proposals and presentations.
  • Manages design deliverables, permits, procurement and construction schedules.
  • Supervises, trains, and mentors project teams across multiple sites.
  • Manages complex project structures and negotiate claims/disputes.
  • Understands and manages contracts and documentation.
  • Serves as a senior leader within the district.
  • Leads district initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Postsecondary education in engineering, construction management, or a related field.
  • 15+ years of experience managing large-scale civil and water/wastewater infrastructure projects with a proven track record of success in a senior role.
  • Expert knowledge of safety and environmental principles and legislation.
  • In-depth understanding of construction industry operations, materials, methods, building codes, and safety/quality management.
  • Experience with diverse project types and construction methods.
  • Understanding of insurance, bonding and legal requirements.
  • Proven ability to successfully lead project pursuits.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Actively participates in industry events and forums to expand professional networks and identify potential leads.
  • Skilled in negotiating contracts and agreements, with experience in complex subcontracts and purchase orders.
