Here's how a District Human Resources Advisor for our Calgary office contributes to our team:

Responsibilities

  • Leads and advises on human resources and professional development programs, policies, practices and compliance for designated employee groups.  
  • Develops and implements recruitment plans with effective sourcing strategies.  
  • Participates in district human resources and professional development planning, leading the development and execution of district-level projects and initiatives.  
  • Provides guidance, coaching and training on all aspects of career management.  
  • Advises supervisors on employee relations, compensation, recruitment, performance improvement, workforce planning and training programs.
  • Assists with local market research and analysis for annual compensation reviews and coordinates the salary/bonus review process for client groups. 
  • Cultivates strong, customer-focused relationships.
  • Assists with the student program strategy for the district.

Qualifications

  • Postsecondary diploma or degree in human resources or a related discipline. 
  • Preferably pursuing an HR designation.
  • 5 years of progressive experience in human resources.
  • Proficient in handling confidential information with tact and diplomacy.
  • Strong ability to research, analyze data and make informed recommendations.
  • Capable of working independently or collaboratively in a complex organization.
  • Seen as a trusted advisor, experienced in coaching both employees and supervisors.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present ideas effectively.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with a strong attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to multitask and prioritize deadlines effectively.
