Here's how an Integrated Construction Technology Specialist for our Calgary office contributes to our team:
Responsibilities
- Creates, reviews, and validates virtual models from plans, specifications, and elevations.
- Collaborates with the project team to develop construction logistics models and plans using a variety of software.
- Supervises Trade and Design modeling efforts, and reports on progress and performance metrics.
- Facilitates the trade model coordination process and communicates with project teams.
- Aggregates multidiscipline construction models and keeps them current, ensuring adherence to standards.
- Participates in BIM coordination meetings to resolve clashes and issues.
- Occasionally travels to construction sites to fly drones, use laser scanners, or capture construction photos.
- Promotes new technologies with project teams and seeks to drive adoption of PCL technologies through operational processes.
- Provides training and support to project team members on BIM tools and processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelors' degree, diploma or certificate in a buildings-industry related discipline (e.g., architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC), civil, architectural design).
- 2 to 4 years of construction-related experience, including 1 to 2 years of Virtual Design and Construction-related experience.
- Experience with Autodesk products is strongly preferred (Revit, Autocad, Recap, and Navisworks).
- Proficiency in other 3D modeling and rendering software is beneficial (Sketchup, Blender, Fuzor, Synchro, Lumion, 3DS Max etc).
- Drone pilot license and flight experience is an asset.
- Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with various stakeholders.
- Project management skills to handle multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.
- Understanding of construction sequences and implementing construction technology.
- Ability to understand 2D and 3D construction drawings/specifications and translate into a 3D/4D Building Information Model with direct supervision.
- Exposure to 4D scheduling software and planning tools.
- Experience using Microsoft projects Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Power BI and Power Automate is beneficial.
