We are currently seeking project managers with strong experience managing water and wastewater projects to join our civil team. Here's how a Project Manager for our Calgary office contributes to our team:

Responsibilities

  • Provides overall contract administration, technical expertise and support for civil and water/wastewater projects.
  • Develops and implements the project safety plan, leading by example in health and safety practices.
  • Ensures projects are constructed per design, budget, resources, quality and schedule.
  • Understands client drivers and offers value engineering proposals for functionality, cost and schedule benefits.
  • Manages project performance and provides status reports on safety, cost forecasts and schedules.
  • Negotiates and issues subcontracts, major purchase orders and progress payments, monitoring their progress and schedules.
  • Understands, communicates and enforces contracts and contract documents.
  • Develops and coordinates overall project closeout.
  • Identifies and manages risks and opportunities on construction projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in engineering, construction management or a related field.
  • 5–10 years of progressive experience in construction, with a focus on managing civil and water/wastewater projects.
  • Leadership or mentoring experience is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing a strong safety culture through health, safety and environment principles and legislation.
  • In-depth knowledge of the water and wastewater industry, including building materials, construction specifications, methods and procedures, construction law, building codes and safety and quality management practices.
  • Strong planning, organizational and time management skills, including the ability to manage project budgets and schedules.
  • Ability to identify and manage risks and opportunities on construction projects.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers.
  • A strong aptitude for adopting new technology.
