Here's how a Craft Recruiter for PCL Industrial Services, Inc. within Arizona Industrial contributes to our team:
Responsibilities
- Screens résumés and conducts interviews for available job opportunities, and maintains an accurate and current pipeline of potential workers.
- Actively sources candidates through a variety of channels to improve candidate quality and maintain a healthy pipeline of candidates for hard-to-fill roles.
- Creates, implements, and analyzes recruitment metrics to ensure efficient and effective recruitment practices. Identifies opportunities to continuously improve recruitment processes, approaches, tools, and outcomes.
- Confirms technical qualifications with various apprenticeship and/or labor boards and other certificate-issuing authorities, and works to collect apprenticeship documents.
- Works closely with the craft recruiter and workforce manager to review project demands and evaluate department planning and needs.
- Interprets collective agreements, pre-job conference reports, site documentation, client-/project-specific guidelines, etc. and applies them to hiring practices accordingly.
- Develops sourcing strategies that support short- and long-term recruitment needs based on project demands.
- Conducts strategic market research to propose information such as hiring demographic, expenses associated with travel allowance and accommodations, and provincial wage rates at the bidding stages of projects.
- Develops and maintains an effective network with other senior HR professionals and participates in associations, as appropriate.
Qualifications
- Journeyman certificate or postsecondary diploma / degree in a related discipline preferred.
- 5 years of progressive recruitment experience in the construction or a related industry preferred.
- Understands and comprehends all labor-agreement and government legislation, and PCL policies and procedures.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with full-cycle recruitment process and development of talent acquisition strategies.
- Extensive knowledge of the local and regional apprenticeship and labor programs.
- Ability to tactfully and diplomatically deal with people and act with discretion when handling confidential information.
- Strong business acumen with an understanding of industry practices and new developments.
- Ability to mentor and coach entry-level craft recruiters.
- Seen as a trusted advisor with the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to negotiate and present content and ideas that influence a favorable outcome.
