Here's how a(n) Commissioning Coordinator for our Solar USA office contributes to our team:

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates commissioning activities aligned with project scope as per the contract terms and conditions.
  • Assists project team with coordination of Commissioning trades for compliance to drawings, specifications, quality, and schedule.
  • Reviews RFIs and tracks RFI responses for timeliness.
  • Prepares and tracks Commissioning submittal logs for shop drawings and coordination documents and reports progress to the project team.
  • Assists the project team with all facets of project closeout, operation and maintenance manuals, spare part inventory, and deficiencies.
  • Reviews the project specifications and identifies commissioning requirements.
  • Coordinates examination, witnesses, monitors, and documents as per project commissioning and Inspection testing plans (ITPs).
  • Reviews and collects commissioning turnover documentation.
  • Acts as a liaison with craft personnel to broaden technical knowledge.
  • Works with field management to ensure the commissioning of finished work.
  • Stays current with industry practices and technologies and seeks new and innovative construction methods and processes.
  • Develops and maintains strong customer-focused relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Values and models the solution provider and profitability culture.
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related discipline.
  • 0-2 years of experience with some co-op or relevant experience in solar construction is preferred.
  • 1 year of experience in commissioning activities and/or the construction industry preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of construction industry; understands specifications, methods, and procedures.
  • Introductory knowledge of codes related to the construction industry.
  • Basic construction inspection skills.
  • Demonstrates planning, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent recordkeeping skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Basic understanding of change process in relation to cost/pricing and scheduling impact, with the ability to track Commissioning change orders.
  • Familiarity with construction scheduling and sequencing with the ability to track mechanical and electrical progress.
  • Ability to monitor and report trade resources to project team.
  • Knowledge and ability to assist in the start-up and commissioning process.
  • Ability to identify installation priorities to trade contractors per the schedule (including start-up, commissioning, and closeout).
  • Ability to interpret contract documents, including shop drawings, change orders, site instructions, requests for information (RFIs), etc.
  • Uses effective verbal and written communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Understanding of decision-making authority and ability to present solutions.
  • Demonstrated flexibility and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Planning, organizational, and time management skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize tasks with conflicting deadlines, and delegate tasks.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective stakeholder relationships.
  • Ability to quickly adapt and become proficient with new software.
