Here's how a Social Media Manager for our US Head Office office contributes to our team:


  • Developing, managing, and executing company-wide social media strategy, including content creation, training, monitoring, engagement and governance.
  • Overseeing creation of company-wide social media content, including paid and organic marketing campaigns, for all channels, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn and Google Business while maintaining consistent company voice and brand.
  • Creating, leading, and implementing company-wide in-person and online social media training and consultation, as well as developing a brand ambassadors’ program.
  • Providing strategic social media consultation and guidance for executives and other key company decision makers. 
  • Compiling reports to measure results and optimize strategy and tactics, along with analysis and recommendations on the effectiveness of various campaigns.
  • Researching and implementing new trends in social media and competitor strategies to develop new approaches.
  • Engaging with social media audiences, including clients, partners, and community members.
  • Overseeing the real-time monitoring of social media platforms for mentions of PCL 24/7 and responding as necessary.
  • Educating executives of issues and crises that arise through social media and responding as necessary. 
  • Leading audits of social media audiences to determine best content for each platform.
  • Supporting digital communication activities including email promotions and content creation.
  • Managing a social media specialist while working collaborating with a cross functional leadership team. 


  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, public relations, communications or related field.
  • 7-10 years of proven working experience in managing social media platforms.
  • 3-5 years of supervisory experience.
  • Budget 25-35% Travel.
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms and their respective audiences (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.) and how each platform can be deployed in different scenarios.
  • Exceptional presentation skills with the ability to educate large groups of people including executives on importance of social strategy and how they can contribute to PCL’s overall social strategy. 
  • Social media management software experience required (i.e. Hootsuite or similar).
  • Maintains a working knowledge of principles of SEO including keyword research. 
  • Advanced knowledge of Google Analytics, social analytics, and other digital communication platforms and ability to make decisions based on the data.
  • Experience with Canva or similar design platform preferred.
  • Understands online etiquette and legal issues. 

The salary range for this position is between $75,000 and $95,000 per annum, based on experience and qualifications.
