Here's how a Yard Supervisor for PCL Construction Services, Inc. within Denver contributes to our team:
Responsibilities
- Ensure materials, tools and equipment are shipped to projects in required timeframe
- Responsible for the quality of tools and materials shipped (certifications, inspections, accessories)
- Document/enter data on all equipment and material movements in and out of the yard
- Monitor inventory levels, placing stock orders when required
- Manage the districts Preventative Maintenance program for equipment
- Perform basic tool repairs, coordinating third party repairs as required
- Maintain a clean, organized yard
- Manage the Denver Yard Safety Program, ensure PSI program is followed, conduct weekly safety meetings, conduct safety committee meetings, manage SMC site data, and ensure that all operations comply with PCL safety and environmental procedures. Ensure daily activities are conducted in accordance with PCL HSE manuals and Denver Yard HSE Plan.
- Coordinate yard courier truck and third party deliveries
Additional duties include:
- Supervise temp labor and contractors working at the yard. Train, monitor and evaluate hourly employees
- Ensure manpower levels are appropriate to meet the level of yard activity
- Develop organizational plan for the effective and safe storage of equipment and materials
- Contribute to the development of process improvements. Supervise the implementation and evaluate effectiveness of such improvements
- Assist in maximizing asset utilization
- Assist in upkeep and maintenance of the Denver Yard buildings and property
Qualifications
Interpersonal Skills and Experience
- Motivated self-starter, energetic, eager
- Able to remain on task with minimal supervision
- Enjoy interacting with internal customers and vendors
- Strong conflict resolution skills
- Able and enthusiastic about prioritizing tasks to meet multiple, shifting deadlines
Educational/Technical Skills and Experience
- 2 years minimum working in the construction and/or build tools industry (must be able to able to identify tools and equipment and perform basic safety and functionality checks)
- HS diploma or GED. College coursework is a plus.
- Prior experience supervising one or more employees is preferred
- Basic MS Office Skills ( Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Strong Verbal and Written Communication Skills
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs (loading and unloading trucks, stocking shelves)
- Must have valid driver’s license
The estimated salary range for this role is between $62,000 and $80,000 per annum, based on your experience and qualifications. Final compensation will be confirmed as part of a personalized offer.
