Here's how a Business Systems Analyst for our Edmonton NAHQ office contributes to our team:

  • Elicits and validates business requirements with user representatives and stakeholders (using interviews, software analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, etc.).
  • Validates requirements with user representatives and stakeholders.
  • Participates in sector stakeholders’ meetings. 
  • Helps to resolve business process-related system issues.
  • Creates user acceptance tests, executes user acceptance scenarios (prior to involving users) and assists with coordination of user acceptance testing.
  • Assists with the identification of opportunities for improved utilization of existing business applications and processes.
  • Identifies the need for training, helps plan training activities, creates and updates training materials, and delivers training.  Evaluates training results and recommends continuous improvement actions.
  • Creates and updates business process documentation and incorporates into reference materials to be used by the business.
  • Develops and delivers communications as necessary for projects, enhancements, and support efforts.  


  • Three years of experience as a Business Analyst desired. Progressive experience in related fields will be considered.
  • A post-secondary degree or diploma in business administration, computing science, human resources, or a related discipline.
  • Ability to facilitate training and present to large or small groups.
  • Excellent analytical thinker with a passion for challenges and problem solving.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to be flexible, organized, and maintain attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of project management and organizational change management practices is an asset.
  • Highly skilled in the use of Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word, and Visio.
  • Ability to perform and thrive in a team environment.
  • Experience with HRIS systems an asset.
