Here's how a Business Systems Analyst for PCL Constructors Inc. within Edmonton NAHQ contributes to our team:

Responsibilities

  • Elicits, reviews, analyzes, and validates system and user needs.
  • Documents stakeholder, solution, and transition requirements and participates in gaining signoff.
  • Coordinates and facilitates workshops for subject matter experts in system configuration.
  • Supports effective identification, assessment, and prioritization of business problems and identifies solutions, enhancements, and recommendations for improvements.
  • Supports end users, troubleshoots issues, and streamlines service delivery.
  • Develops and delivers stakeholder communication.
  • Works in an Agile fashion, delivering projects according to accepted Agile methods as directed by the Department Manager.
  • Adheres to PCL’s solution delivery framework (SDF).
  • Develops user acceptance testing results, tracks issues, reports statuses, and gains signoff.
  • Develops and maintains strong, customer-focused relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Values and models the solution provider and profitability culture.
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Postsecondary degree or diploma in Information Management, Information Technology, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in a related field.
  • Experience in UI/UX design, including creating user interfaces that support business application requirements. Proficiency in design tools such as Figma is highly preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey complex ideas and concepts clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to think logically and analytically, and to express ideas constructively.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask, prioritize work, and meet tight deadlines within constraints.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team to solve problems.
  • Strong ability to work effectively and cooperatively with employees at all levels and across various areas of the organization.
  • Capable of independently conducting effective meetings and delivering presentations in support of various projects and deliverables.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess impacts, make recommendations, and integrate changes.
  • Knowledge and practical experience with intermediate software implementations, software development lifecycle methodologies, and organizational change management.
  • Proven ability to understand and interpret stakeholder needs and make recommendations that support project/solution and company-wide objectives.
