As a member of the Corporate Analytics team, you will leverage your specialized Business Intelligence (BI) experience to help improve PCL’s overall financial and operational reporting effectiveness by:

Responsibilities

  • Designs and develops Business Intelligence (BI) reporting tools and dashboards across multiple technologies including Oracle Analytics (OA) Oracle Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) and Oracle Essbase.
  • Collaborates with business subject matter experts to develop and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that drive business success.  
  • Develops, maintains, and monitors user group security through Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
  • Acts as a technical resource for developing and maintaining various integration scripting processes including SQL, Python, JSON, and Groovy. 
  • Leads business requirement gathering sessions, understands user requirements, and leads the reconciliation of technical and business requirements as they relate to technology solutions.  
  • Works with key stakeholders to identify opportunities to automate financial processes.
  • Designs, builds, tests and recommends solutions to challenges related to complex data integration.
  • Evaluates and stays current with new and emerging technologies to update or streamline processes and provides recommendations for integration into the business.
  • Explore and test applications for machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI) within organization.
  • Communicates effectively and develops and maintains strong, customer-focused relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, as required.
  • Manages work requirements for various third-party consultants and evaluates performance.
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Postsecondary degree or diploma in computer technology or a related discipline.
  • Accounting designation and Business Intelligence and Analytics Certificate (or equivalent) an asset.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience with business intelligence, analytics, and financial reporting systems.
  • Advanced experience:
    • Analytic tools and technology (Oracle Analytics / Power BI)
    • Enterprise Performance Management (Oracle) 
    • Data Storage technologies
    • Scripting Languages (SQL, Python, Groovy) 
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of fundamental data concepts (groups, hierarchies, data / metadata) and data integration solutions.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment in a highly matrix organization.
  • Organizational skills, high level of detail orientation, and ability to multitask and prioritize conflicting deadlines.
  • Ability to act with discretion when handling confidential information.
  • Demonstrated critical-thinking skills.
  • Ability to stay current with new industry practices and technologies.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective stakeholder relationships.
