Here's how a Craft Recruiter for PCL Energy Inc. within Edmonton Energy contributes to our team:

Responsibilities

  • Screens résumes and conducts interviews for available job opportunities, and maintains an accurate and current pipeline of potential workers.
  • Actively sources candidates through a variety of channels to improve candidate quality and maintain a healthy pipeline of candidates for hard-to-fill roles.
  • Maintains contact with the labor pool to recruit, interview, and hire the best-qualified candidates available to fill job requirements.
  • Confirms technical qualifications with various apprenticeship and/or labor boards and other certificate-issuing authorities, and works to collect apprenticeship documents.
  • Collects and files all workforce documentation in our ATS, including résumés, personal and jobsite information, apprenticeship, safety tickets, etc. in a confidential manner and in accordance with PCL policies and guidelines.
  • Understands and effectively communicates the compensation structure and benefits offered to new hires from the collective agreements.
  • Coordinates required safety training, online orientations and other onboarding requriemetns required for new hires on each jobsite.
  • Actively promotes (internally and externally) trade and apprenticeship opportunities available within PCL.
  • Develops and maintains strong, customer-focused relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Attend career and job fairs as required.
  • Familiar with social media recruitment, advertising, creating campaigns, data analysis, understanding market trends in trades recruitment
  • Familiar with CLAC trades recruitment is an asset
  • Work with project teams to forecast and plan hiring needs, forecast in demand trades

Qualifications

  • 1 year of progressive recruitment experience in the construction or a related industry preferred.
  • Aware of all labor-agreement and government legislation, and PCL policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of full-cycle recruitment process.
  • Aware of the local and regional apprenticeship and labor programs.
  • Ability to act with discretion when handling confidential information.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective stakeholder relationships.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
