Here's how a(n) HSE Coordinator for our PCL Industrial Management Inc. office contributes to our team:


  • Monitors and assists with the implementation of project HSE plan and regulatory requirements
  • Assists in conducting and identifying when project-specific training is required, which may include weekly training topics, hazard specific training, and the HSE Operating Procedure (HSEOP)
  • Participates in and provides information for HSE meetings
  • Provides project team with project-specific information and statistics to develop trends and assists with the creation of trend action plans
  • Assists with the development and implementation of Hazard ID tools (e.g., Construction Hazard Assessment (CHA), Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), Pre-job Safety Instruction (PSI))
  • Conducts and documents project HSE inspections
  • Participates in environmental inspections
  • Verifies that corrective actions are implemented
  • Identifies and monitors appropriate site PPE
  • Assists project management and supervision with the implementation of the emergency response plan
  • Assists project management and supervision with the monitoring of project security requirements
  • Assists with the implementation and monitoring of the environmental plan
  • Gathers, reviews, and provides input on HSE documentation
  • Monitors trade contractor safety compliance
  • Verifies that equipment and tool inspections are being conducted and documented as per the program
  • Notifies project management and direct supervision of any incident and assisting with the investigation
  • Assists in the implementation, monitoring, and support of the project’s HSE Plan, HSEOPs, safe work practices, and any other HSE-related practices.


  • Postsecondary diploma or degree in OH&S is considered an asset
  • Safety designation such as NCSO, CRSP, or CHST are considered an asset
  • 2 years’ experience in a related industry with direct experience in HSE
  • Knowledge of applicable OH&S and environmental legislation
  • Ability to implement HSE processes
  • Demonstrated ability to influence project teams regarding HSE responsibility 
  • Ability to identify and resolve conflicts with craft workers
  • Effective communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to develop, influence, and maintain effective stakeholder relationships
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, with a strong aptitude for adopting new technology
