We are seeking an Health, Safety and Environment Student, for our North American Headquarters district in Edmonton, AB, that is available for 4- 12 months starting in January 2026. This position will be under the direct supervisor of the Director HSE Programs.

 

As a Health, Safety and Environment Student and depending on your assigned project, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our team by:

  • Assists in the implementation and continuous improvement of HSE programs across the corporate office campus.
  • Supports the development and updating of safety manuals, corporate HSE documentation, and program materials.
  • Participates in hazard identification and injury assessment activities, including data gathering, analysis, and reporting.
  • Conducts research to ensure HSE programs, policies, and practices remain current with industry best practices, emerging trends, and regulatory requirements.
  • Helps coordinate and document job site visits, including safety inspections and compliance evaluations.
  • Contributes to the planning and delivery of HSE orientation, awareness campaigns, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Maintains accurate records and assists with documentation for audits, incident investigations, and compliance tracking.
  • Collaborates with HSE team members to support strategic initiatives and promote a proactive safety culture.
  • Provides administrative and logistical support for meetings, reporting, and project coordination.

What you will bring to the role:

  • Ability to implement HSE program elements and safe operating procedures
  • Awareness of environmental requirements and the ability to support compliance systems
  • Ability to assist in planning and applying preventative measures to reduce exposure to hazards
  • Foundational knowledge of incident investigation, including identifying causes and supporting corrective actions
  • Exposure to hazard and risk assessment, incident management, and investigation training
  • Familiarity with inspection processes and relevant legislation
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated willingness to learn and grow in a safety-focused environment
