We are currently seeking a Human Resources Student at our Edmonton Buildings District located in Edmonton, Alberta. We are looking for students available for 4 – 8 months starting in May 2026.
Responsibilities
- Assist with all aspects of the district student program including full cycle recruitment, onboarding/off boarding, compensation research, student events and career fair participation
- Assist with full cycle recruitment for salaried employees including resume review, coordinating interviews, conducting prescreens, and reference checks
- Assist with tracking and reporting for internal training
- Assist with virtual and in class training set up
- Support district HRPD initiatives related to employee engagement, diversity and inclusion and health & wellness
- Support monthly metrics and reporting processes related to career management and vacation planning
- Support activities requiring a high degree of confidentiality, attention to detail, and accuracy.
- Other duties as required
Qualifications
- Must be proactive in terms of anticipating needs and follow-up items for the project team
- Expert in Microsoft office products such as Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Access
- Must have excellent interpersonal, telephone, and organizational skills
- Exhibits strict confidentiality with all information
- Must be independent and resourceful to accomplish day- to-day tasks and assignments
- Must have excellent verbal, written, and grammatical skills
- Must demonstrate initiative and the ability to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities under tight deadlines, while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and professionalism
- Strong time-management skills with the ability to effectively manage multiple aggressive deadlines
