We are seeking a Human Resources Student in Edmonton, Alberta, that is available for 4 or 8 months starting September 8, 2026. As a Human Resources Student you will contribute to our team by:

Responsibilities

  • Assists the team and deliver high-quality programs in the areas of talent acquisition strategies, career management and employee engagement.
  • Fosters student engagement through the management of our student blog and other student engagement initiatives.
  • Supports the team through preparation for daily events and follow-up actions (e.g., scheduling and coordinating meetings, maintaining action lists and reminders, and meeting preparation).
  • Composes and prepares confidential correspondence, reports, and research on current industry practices.
  • Manages career-related inquiries through e-mail.
  • Supports the district learning and development processes:
    • Assists with tracking and reporting for internal training.
    • Assists with virtual and in class training set up.
  • Supports district HRPD initiatives related to employee engagement, diversity and inclusion and health & wellness.
  • Supports monthly metrics and reporting processes related to career management and vacation planning.
  • Supports activities requiring a high degree of confidentiality, attention to detail, and accuracy.
  • Involved in other HR and project management tasks as required.

What you will bring to the role:

  • Pursuing a degree or diploma with a Human Resources, Strategy, Entrepreneurship and Management, or similar focus
  • Must be proactive in terms of anticipating needs and follow-up items for the project team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft office products such as Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Access.
  • Must have excellent planning and organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality required of work assignments and is independent and resourceful to accomplish day- to-day tasks and assignments.
  • Must demonstrate initiative and the ability to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities under tight deadlines, while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and professionalism.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal, telephone, and organizational skills
  • Exhibits strict confidentiality with all information
  • Must be independent and resourceful to accomplish day- to-day tasks and assignments
  • Must have excellent verbal, written, and grammatical skills
  • Strong time-management skills with the ability to effectively manage multiple aggressive deadlines
