We are seeking a Human Resources Student for our North American Headquarters district to support our Heavy Industrial Sector. That is available for 4-8 months starting in January 2027. This position will be under the direct supervisor of the HRPD Manager. The Heavy Industrial Sector HRPD team is responsible for the development, implementation, and support of numerous Human Resource initiatives for PCL’s Heavy Industrial Sector.

 

Responsibilities

•    Assisting and delivering high-quality programs in the areas of talent acquisition strategies, career management and employee engagement. 
•    Supporting the team through preparation for daily events and follow-up actions (e.g., scheduling and coordinating meetings, maintaining action lists and reminders, and meeting preparation).
•    Managing career-related inquiries through e-mail.
•    Composing and preparing confidential correspondence, reports and other documents.
•    Participating in other HR and project management tasks as required.

What you will bring to the role:

•    Pursuing a degree or diploma with a Human Resources major.
•    Must be proactive in terms of anticipating needs and follow-up items for the project team.
•    Proficient in Microsoft office products such as Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Access.
•    Must have excellent planning and organizational skills.
•    Ability to maintain confidentiality required of work assignments and is independent and resourceful to accomplish day- to-day tasks and assignments.
•    Must have excellent verbal, written, and grammatical skills.
•    Must demonstrate initiative and the ability to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities under tight deadlines, while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and professionalism.
