We are seeking a Labour Administrator Student for our Canadian Industrial Division in Edmonton, AB that is available for 4 or 8 months starting in May, 2025. This position will be under the direct supervision of the Workforce Manager. As a Labour Administrator Student, you will contribute to our team by:
Responsibilities

Assists with screening resumes and conducting interviews for available job opportunities.

Maintains an accurate database of potential workers.

Files necessary documentation: resumes, jobsite information, apprenticeship, safety tickets, etc.

Assures constant contact with the labor pool to recruit, interview, and hire the best qualified candidates available to fill job requirements.

Treats all documentation, wage information, personal information in a confidential manner, and in accordance with PCL policies and guidelines.

Communicates the compensation package to new hires.

Confirms technical qualifications with various provincial apprenticeship boards and other certificate issuing authorities.

Works with team to collect apprenticeship documents.

Coordinates safety training for new hires as per job requirements.

Works with team to understand requirements for workers on site.

Answers daily phone calls and emails from candidates or potential candidates.

Assists with various department administration tasks when necessary.

Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
-
Pursuing a degree or diploma with a Human Resources Major preferred.

Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).

Excellent interpersonal skills.

Knowledge of various computer programs such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Outlook).

Must be proactive in terms of anticipating needs and follow-up items for the project team.

Ability to maintain confidentiality required of work assignments and is independent and resourceful to accomplish day- to-day tasks and assignments.

Must demonstrate initiative and the ability to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities under tight deadlines, while maintaining a high-degree of accuracy and professionalism.
