We are seeking a Marketing Student for our Canadian Buildings corporate Marketing and Communications Team located in Edmonton, Alberta that is available for either 4 or 8 months starting in May 2026. This position will be under the direct supervision of the director of marketing for Canadian Buildings, working closely with the Marketing and Communications specialists located at PCL headquarters in Edmonton.

As an engaged and creative Marketing Student, you will contribute to the team in the following ways:

  • Create branded materials based on PCL’s visual guidelines (e.g., brochures, flysheets, PPTs, conference materials, posters and banners, etc.).
  • Produce visually compelling marketing content and materials for internal and external audiences, including photography and graphic/document design.
  • Accurately update existing collection of marketing assets and collateral to keep them current; maintain a log of changes.
  • Develop digital collateral such as landing pages and interactive brochures.
  • Interview internal stakeholders and/or use internal database to develop writeup for project profiles, marketing materials, resumes, and other purposes as required.
  • Assist in data entry and maintain accurate database and content on PCL’s internal sales and marketing platform SAMI.
  • Support marketing activities associated with internal and external events and conferences.
  • Assist with special assignments and provide support to the Marketing team as required.
  • Support coordination and execution of employee headshots as needed.
  • Review, edit and proofread various internal documents and marketing related material.
  • As needed, write clear, concise business communications that are tailored to the right audience and are free of spelling and punctuation errors.
  • Manage tasks and priorities as part of a creative team working within project schedules and deadlines.
  • Develop and maintain strong customer-focused relationships with internal customers to develop branding solutions for products.

What you will bring to the role:

 

  • Graphic design skills and creativity.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, especially InDesign and Illustrator (desired).
  • High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent computer, Microsoft Office Suite and researching skills.
  • A collaborative mindset as a strong team player.
  • Critical and analytical thinking and the ability to articulate abstract ideas.
  • Ability to handle and maintain confidential information and resourcefulness.
  • Honest and transparent communication and a high level of integrity.
  • Highly organized, self-motivated positive attitude, flexibility and a solution-provider mentality.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to develop and sustain positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Understanding of digital media and how to integrate it into the business process.
  • Ability to take initiative in a deadline-oriented, fast-paced, environment.
