Here's how a Payroll Coordinator for our Edmonton NAHQ office contributes to our team:

  • Processing new hires, employee changes, terminations and transfers of salaried and staff hourlyemployees
  • Processing In-house weekly, multi-provincial (BC, AB, SK, MN, ON, NS, QC, YT) payroll for salaried andstaff hourly employees
  • Reconciling and remitting all payroll and company benefit liabilities, including, but not limited to WCB, CRA,provincial health, EAP, etc.
  • Provide support to district salaried payroll coordinators on the payroll system
  • Reconciling and preparing payroll year end reporting for salaried and staff hourly employees
  • Assist in the preparation and processing of full cycle payroll, where required, which includes reviewing andbalancing of all payroll related allocations (i.e. rates of pay, deductions, hours of work, burdens, statutoryremittances, etc.).
  • Processing shadow payrolls for US employees working in Canada
  • Understanding and interpreting government legislation to ensure compliance regardingpay/deductions/benefits/taxes/documentation

What you will bring to the role:

  • Minimum 2 years of payroll administration experience
  • A Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification is preferred, or working towards the completion of thePCP certification
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with an emphasis on providing exceptional customerservice
  • Excellent attention to detail and seasoned problem-solving skills
  • Collaborative team player with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to maintain performance when faced with tight deadlines and frequent changes
  • Ability to act with the required discretion when handling confidential information.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and automated payroll processing
  • Completion of the Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification is desirable, as is experience withJDE or Oracle payroll systems.
