Here's how an Electrical Project Manager for PCL Industrial Services, Inc. contributes to our team:
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with construction managers, superintendents, and project teams across multiple sites.
- Lead meetings and communications to ensure alignment on scope, schedule, and performance expectations.
- Supervise, coach, and mentor project team members, ensuring clear communication and task ownership.
- Refine and execute overall project strategy and manage project risks through planning and mitigation.
- Monitor performance metrics such as schedule, costs, workforce, equipment, materials, HSE, and quality.
- Establish project reporting protocols including labor tracking, material reporting, and document control.
- Manage labor relations and understand jurisdictional requirements for hiring and supervision.
- Provide input to performance reports related to safety, cost forecasting, and schedule compliance.
- Oversee and negotiate all change orders and assess their impact on project budget and schedule.
- Support business development efforts by contributing to estimates, subcontractor outreach, and proposal development.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or equivalent field experience.
- Extensive knowledge of construction industry practices, including methods, materials, and procedures.
- Strong understanding of contract language and the ability to identify and manage project risks.
- Proven ability to lead effective meetings and deliver client presentations.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences from field to executive levels.
- Knowledge of industrial construction sequencing and common challenges across disciplines.
- Experience using project management, estimating, and scheduling software.
- Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills; able to prioritize and manage competing demands.
- Proven problem-solving ability in areas of construction, resource planning, and technical coordination.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience working directly with engineering and client representatives on project deliverables.
