As a contractual hourly Materials Coordinator for Melloy Industrial Services Inc in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, you'll have the opportunity to complete clerical activities and system transactions for temporary and permanent materials, construction equipment, and services. 

 

Here's how a Materials Coordinator for Melloy Industrial Services Inc contributes to our team:

Responsibilities

  • Validates item library and bill of material data received from internal and external sources and creates in material management system.
  • Generates requisitions for temporary materials and services expedite approvals and distributes to procurement for action.
  • Expedites outstanding or overdue purchase orders.
  • Receives logistics information for incoming freight received from clients, suppliers, or carriers; notify operations personnel of incoming loads and provide details as needed. 
  • Generates and/or closes system transactions for temporary, permanent materials and equipment such as Purchase Orders for client or engineering supplied materials and equipment; Material Received Reports (MRR); Over, Short, and Damage (OS&D) reports; Inventory Change Records; Pick Tickets; Transfers / Shipments; etc.
  • Coordinates OS&D resolutions with the client, project team, procurement, and supplier as needed.
  • Completes preservation, preventative maintenance, and certification transactions.
  • Coordinate preventative maintenance, service, repair, and re-certifications.
  • Coordinates inventory and disposition of surplus material, equipment, and temporary facilities needing return for credit transfer to client, or demobilization. Dispatch carriers for shipments off-site.
  • Generates, distribute, and file material management reports.
  • Trains other material coordinators, tradespeople, project coordinators, and other staff on material management procedures, project plans, and systems. Provides ongoing support and instruction to tradespeople assigned to perform activities in the warehouse(s), toolcrib(s), and laydown yard(s).

Qualifications

  • Construction trade certification with related experience, 3 years of project based or industry related supply chain experience, and / or post-secondary diploma or degree in Supply Chain Management or other construction related field preferred. 
  • Intermediate knowledge of construction specifications, drawings, methods, and procedures.
  • Intermediate knowledge of commonly used construction materials, services, tools, and equipment.
  • Basic understanding of project life cycle, supply chain lifecycle, storage facility management, logistics, and material distribution.
  • Strong verbal and written (expression and comprehension) communication skills. Can develop and maintain effective relationships.
  • Strong work ethic, time management skills, and sense of urgency. Ability to manage shifting priorities in a fast-paced and changing environment.
  • Demonstrates leadership, identifies areas for change, works with others to solve problems, develops others, and holds themselves and others accountable.
  • Strong computer literacy and knowledge of Microsoft Office software with an aptitude for adopting new technology and systems and experience with material management systems is an asset.
