The opportunity:
As a Proposals Manager for our Los Angeles/Glendale office, you'll lead the most complex and strategic pursuits for PCL’s largest and fastest-growing region. Collaborating with a cross-functional team of creatives, builders, and executives, you'll play a critical role in shaping our marketing team's strategic vision and executing on creative proposals and presentations that win. Success in this role requires superior attention to detail, good judgment, and the ability to develop innovative solutions to complex problems. You must have experience successfully driving pursuits from go/no-go to award with the support of teams of five or more.
As the manager of the LA proposal team, you'll be responsible for managing the entire pursuit process from start to finish, including project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and quality control. You'll ensure that all proposals are high-quality, compliant, and compelling, helping to position PCL as a leader in the construction industry. This role requires a high level of organization, communication, and leadership, as you'll be working with a team of professionals to deliver winning proposals on time and on budget. What you'll do to make an impact:
• Manage the Los Angeles marketing team and formal proposal process, including pursuit prequalifications, proposals, presentations, schedules, deadlines, and compliance.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to define overall pursuit strategy and vision, ensuring that our proposals are composed in a clear, compelling, and compliant manner.
• Collaborate with technical staff and writes/reviews/edits original content for clarity, compliance, and key messages.
• Drive process improvement and long-term planning, including the adoption of technologies, lean methods, innovations, and operating procedures that foster creativity and collaboration.
• Ensure that our proposal team deliverables are met, troubleshooting, and mobilizing resources to respond to deficiencies in the process.
• Train, supervise, mentor, and coach department staff to maximize performance and continually achieve improved service and results.
• Lead or co-lead the preparation of interview, strategy, and presentation deliverables and manage the timely development of clear, compelling customized proposals that support the win strategy.
• May lead strategic initiatives.
• Track, analyze, and report on proposal metrics, sharing best practices and lessons learned.
• Seek involvement in outside professional organizations that support the position, enhancing your own creativity, and contributing to the overall success of our team.
What you'll bring to the team:
• You want to make a big impact. You can take direction, follow through and make the corrections necessary to stay on track. You ask questions, prioritize, decide, then act.
• You have worked as an AEC marketer, managing the entire lifecycle of a pursuit, preferable as a prime.
• You possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. You are proficient at translating analytical information into creative, audience-specific copy and messaging that engages and persuades the target audience.
• You are proficient in using marketing and presentation software, including Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop), and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Teams, and OneNote)
• You have experience working with technical teams and graphic designers to build creative, compelling presentations and marketing collateral.
• You are strategic with your time and resources. You loathe inefficiency and enjoy building workflows and strategies that foster collaboration and improve team performance.
• You thrive in a dynamic, collaborative, deadline-driven environment.
• A bachelor's degree in marketing or communications is not required but is preferred.
• CPSM or PMP certification is not required but preferred.

The salary range for this position is between $91,000 to $126,000 per annum, based on experience and qualifications.
