Here's how a Timekeeper for PCL Industrial Construction Co. within US PICCo contributes to our team:
Responsibilities
- Records employee call-ins and processes time-off requests, maintaining accurate attendance records.
- Reviews and balances employee timecards against gate logs to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Reviews new hire documentation to verify accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company requirements.
- Sets up new hires in company timekeeping systems.
- Files and organizes project payroll records while maintaining confidentiality.
- Runs, reviews, and distributes required daily reports.
- Communicates effectively with employees, supervisors, and internal stakeholders regarding payroll and timekeeping matters.
- Balances employee hours and payments, ensuring compliance with applicable state regulations, company policies, and contractual requirements.
- Reviews payroll data for accuracy before payroll submission.
- Runs and distributes required weekly payroll reports.
- Submits balanced payroll within established deadlines.
- Reviews and follows up on payroll discrepancies or corrections received from employees, supervisors, or district payroll teams.
- Develops and maintains strong customer-focused relationships with all stakeholders.
Qualifications
- High school diploma.
- Some co-op experience timekeeping or payroll experience an asset.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and a high level of detail orientation are required to maintain and submit all necessary documentation and meet deadlines and requirements.
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment, with strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to act with the required discretion when handling confidential information.
- Flexibility regarding the schedule and the ability to mobilize to the site when required.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective stakeholder relationships.
- Basic skills using Microsoft Office Suite.
