Here's how a Project Coordinator for our BC Region office contributes to our team:

Responsibilities

  • Assists the Project Manager and Superintendent with overall project performance including costs, schedule, and quality project status.
  • Performs quantity takeoffs and surveys to manage contract progress and reporting.
  • Develops and maintains excellent relationships with sub-trades and is responsible for some subcontract administration, including defining scope of work, answering inquiries, and monitoring progress.
  • Manages change order process, including pricing, negotiating, processing, and assessing cost and schedule impact prior to reviewing with the Project Manager.
  • Administers RFI and shop drawing process.
  • Develops performance status reports for the Project Manager regarding cost forecast, schedule and safety.
  • Assists the Project Manager with issuing tender packages and subcontractors and monitoring their progress.
  • Assists the Project Manager and Superintendent with establishing project safety & environment programs and providing proactive leadership.
  • Maintains contractual responsibilities with subcontractors.
  • Being involved in all facets of project closeout, including archiving documents, maintenance and warranty manuals, deficiencies, and warranty work.
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education or training in engineering, construction management, or a related discipline.
  • 3 - 5 years of construction experience in an operational role preferred, Civil project experience an asset.
  • Working knowledge of construction equipment and techniques, drawings, and specifications, project health, HSE, quality, building materials and required standards as per discipline.
  • Ability to apply basic engineering/problem-solving principles to construction challenges.
  • Intermediate knowledge of means and methods and construction sequences.
  • Ability to create a comprehensive schedule.
  • Ability to administer subcontracts and contract documents.
  • Demonstrated ability to be flexible and work in a fast paced environment.
  • Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite with a strong aptitude for adopting new technology.
