Here's how a Field Engineer Intern contributes to our team:
Responsibilities
- Assists Field/Project Engineers, Project Managers, and Superintendents
- Conducts safety audits and quality audits
- Reads and understand drawings and specifications
- Logs submittals, process RFI’s and prepare reports
- Assists with surveying and project layout
- Maintains and update field drawings, field equipment and records
- Assists with coordinating subcontractors, vendors and field staff
- Coordinates material deliveries and documentation
- Attends relevant project meetings
- Prepares memos, letters, meeting minutes, contracts, and other forms and documents
- Assists with project documentation requirements
- Assists with estimating and soliciting subcontractors and/or suppliers for information and pricing
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled as a full-time student pursuing a degree relevant to the construction industry such as Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, etc.
- A desire to pursue a career as a Project Manager, Superintendent, or Estimator
- Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
- 18 years of age or older and possess a valid Driver’s License
- Willing to work and live in the Long Beach California area
- Willing to temporarily relocate to project locations
- This is an hourly non-exempt position
- Must be able to navigate through a construction site on a daily basis, climb ladders and stairs
- Must be able to work around and near heavy equipment, cranes, and other construction equipment
- Employment with PCL is contingent upon passing a background check, a physical, and a substance abuse test each conducted by a third party

The range for this position is between $20 and $24 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
