As a Senior Project Manager for our California Buildings district located in San Diego, you will contribute to our team by:
Responsibilities
- Provides leadership for the Life Science market, including client management, pursuit strategy, and operational oversight. Experience with the Life Sciences market in San Diego or Los Angeles would be an asset.
- Provides support for several small projects or leads one large project with high complexity.
- Accountable for safety, budget, quality, design, schedule, and profitability performance.
- Oversees project personnel operations and maintains excellent industry stakeholder relationships to create opportunities and new work
- Actively participates in leadership roles during district initiatives, project pursuits, and preconstruction activities
- Leads to secure new work by participating as part of core pursuits/preconstruction team to contribute to estimate, proposal, and or/presentation
- Identifies risk areas, and develops and implements mitigation plans
- Oversees the development and implementation of a quality management plan and quality culture with stakeholder buy-in
- Understands, communicates, enforces, and proactively manages contract and documents
- Oversees change management process and manages large changes and disputes
- Oversees and verifies progress preparation payments to clients and trade contractors, and monitors progress
- Oversees overall project closeout, including document archival, maintenance and warrant manuals, deficiencies, and warranty work

Qualifications
- Entrepreneurial mindset, driven, can help create a plan and vision – and then execute on it!
- Associates or bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or a related discipline
- 10 - 15+ years of progressive construction experience with multiple contract delivery types as a leader and mentor preferred
- 5-7 years as project manager with demonstrated experience providing leadership in the Life Sciences market
- Having experience with estimating or related experience preferred
- Expert knowledge and application of health, safety, and environment principles/procedures/legislation
- In-depth knowledge of construction industry and company operations, including building materials, construction specifications, methods and procedures, and safety and quality management practices for large, complex, and more diverse projects
- Demonstrated experience leading and managing others and many construction project facets, including multiple scope coordination. Experience leading and assessing subtrade performance
- Ability to monitor complex project budgets and schedules and to review and validate project schedules
- Superior planning, organizational, and time management skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize team tasks for prompt execution
- Ability to generate, review, and administer complex subcontracts and purchase orders, ensuring that all risks are mitigated, and opportunities are identified
- Excellent verbal, written, presentation and communication skills

The salary range for this position is between $142,000 and $183,500 per annum, based on experience and qualifications.
