Here's how a(n) Project Accountant for our Edmonton Melloy office contributes to our team:

Responsibilities

  • Assemble client billing packages in accordance with contract terms and conditions and follow up to ensure timely payment.

  • Reconcile and process all project-related accounts payable and other costing allocations.

  • Participate in monthly project forecast review meetings to provide input on project financial status.

  • Assist with internal/external audits, and year-end duties as assigned.

  • Review and analyze monthly project reports to ensure accuracy of cash flow, profit recognition, and ledger balances.

  • Subcontract Management: understand subcontract terms and conditions, audit subcontractor invoices and ensure subcontractors are paid within contract terms, etc.

  • Communicate effectively and maintain strong client focus with internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Three or more years of accounting experience, preferably in construction industry. 
  • Postsecondary degree or diploma in a related discipline preferred.
  • Intermediate understanding of accounting principles, including maintenance of ledgers and cash flow management.
  • Understanding of project forecasting and budgeting.
  • Intermediate skills using Microsoft Office Suite and knowledge and experience with accounting software. Specific experience with Oracle/E1 an asset.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills required to interact with project personnel, suppliers, subcontractors and owners.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work in a team environment.Strong organizational skills, detail orientated, and able to meet deadlines and requirements.
