We are seeking an Estimating Student, for our Solar District that is available for 4-16 months starting January 2027.
As an Estimating Student and depending on your assigned project, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our team by:
Responsibilities
- Understands and utilizes PCL’s estimating manuals, systems and forms.
- Reviews quantity survey assignment with lead estimator or Chief Estimator.
- Performs assigned quantity survey.
- Gives quantities of major purchase items to purchasing department for pricing.
- Transfers quantities to lead estimator.
- Performs general subtrade solicitation duties.
- Bids document control.
- Performs bid day assignments.
- Develops relationships with subcontractors.
- Other duties as assigned by the Chief Estimator.
Qualifications
- Candidates must have a strong desire to work in a construction environment and prior field construction experience will be considered an asset.
- Application of various computer software programs will be required, including word processing, spreadsheet applications and drafting.
