Here's how a Contracts Manager for our Eastern Districts contributes to our team:

 

 

Responsibilities

  • Work with senior members of project teams to identify risks and opportunities and develop proactive strategies to effectively manage those risks and opportunities.
  • Work with project teams to administer complex contracts, such as alternative finance and procurement projects in compliance with PCL policies and ensure timely execution.
  • Work with project teams to resolve or escalate claims and disputes as required. 
  • Review, evaluate and assist with negotiating claims from owner, consultants, and subcontractors. 
  • Liaise with legal department, risk management department and executive district leadership to manage claims to reduce exposure and maximize recovery. 
     

Qualifications

  • Postsecondary education or training in engineering, construction management, or a related discipline.
  • 10+ years of progressive construction experience with multiple contract delivery types 
  • Proven success in contract administration and claim resolution including drafting and negotiating various contracts and subcontract language to reduce exposure.
  • Ability to identify opportunities and mitigate potential risks on complex construction projects.
  • Experience with diverse project types, delivery and construction methods, and sequencing and timelines.
  • Demonstrated flexibility and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated conflict-resolution skills, problem-solving abilities, and professional judgment.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders and decision makers.
  • Effective verbal, written, presentation, and communication skills.
