Here's how a Human Resources and Professional Development Coordinator for our Ottawa office contributes to our team:

Responsibilities

  • Leads the process for the district’s student program; plans and organizes college recruiting activities, including orientations, events, networking with colleges and universities, managing databases, and coordinating interviews.
  • Leads the coordination and administration of all training and facilitation plans and programming.
  • Assists HRPD team in workforce planning including recruiting and on boarding practices (entry-to mid-level positions).
  • Provides administrative support to HRPD programs and policy administration as first point of contact.
  • Provides support on district-level projects/initiatives as assigned and general administrative support.
  • Provides administrative support for HRIS system, including career and performance management.
  • Maintains and prepares scheduled and ad hoc reporting as needed.
  • Provides implementation and change management support on corporate and regional initiatives.
  • Maintains budget for assigned programs/initiatives. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related discipline preferred.
  • Working towards an HR designation preferred.
  • 1+ year relevant experience.
  • Basic understanding of HRPD-related principles, practices, procedures and employment legislation.
  • Ability to act with discretion when handling confidential information.
  • Ability to research and analyze information.
  • Able to work independently or in a team environment in a highly matrixed organization.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Organizational skills, high level of detail orientation, and ability to multitask and prioritize conflicting deadlines.
  • Good networking skills with the ability to develop and maintain HR networks.
  • Results-oriented and able to meet deadlines.
