This person will be overseeing and managing field layout standards and practices as well as providing onsite training for new engineers, and managing the districts reality cature tools such as laser scanning, aerial surveying via drones, photo gametry, and thermal imaging. They will be based in Tempe, AZ and will be expected to make monthly overnight trips to project sites.
Here's how a Construction Survey Manager for our Civil Infrastructure office contributes to our team:
Responsibilities
- Responsible for managing our districts construction surveying standards and practices.
- Develop and provide in person trainings for new and existing projects.
- Review and monitor the adherence of our construction layouts and standards.
- Oversee and managing the use of our onsite reality capture tools such as laser scanning, aerial survey of drones, and working with our virtual design and construction group in the use of our capture data.
- As part of the role, you will ensure that construction surveying and layout within the district conform to the most up-to-date standards and employ the latest technological advancements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in engineering, construction management, or a related field.
- 5–8 years of progressive construction experience with a focus on construction surveying and layout.
- Demonstrated experience implementing a strong safety culture by application of health, safety, and environment principles and legislation.
- In-depth knowledge of construction industry including building materials, construction specifications, methods and procedures, construction law and building codes, and safety and quality management practices.
- Previous water infrastructure experience is strongly preferred.
- Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills including the ability to manage multiple projects and schedules.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders and decision makers.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, along with surveying and design software for data collection, GIS mapping, CAD drafting, BIM modeling, and calculations.
- The ability to display a strong aptitude for adopting new technology.
