As a student at PCL, you will get the opportunity for challenging work assignments in a supportive work environment which promotes personal and professional growth. We are seeking Estimating Students, for our BC Region district, within our Canadian Buildings Division that are available for 4 months starting in May 2026. This position will be under the direct supervisor of the Estimator.
As an Estimating Student for PCL Constructors Westcoast Inc. in Richmond, British Columbia, you'll have the opportunity to support innovative infrastructure projects that shape the future of your communiy.
Here's how an Estimating Student for PCL Constructors Westcoast Inc. within BC Region contributes to our team:
Responsibilities
- Understanding and utilizing PCL’s estimating manuals, systems and forms
- Reviewing quantity survey assignment with lead estimator or Chief Estimator
- Performing assigned quantity survey
- Giving quantities of major purchase items to purchasing department for pricing
- Transferring quantities to lead estimator
- Performing general subtrade solicitation duties
- Bid document control
- Performing bid day assignments
- Visiting job sites periodically
- Developing relationships with subcontractors
- Other duties as assigned by the Chief Estimator
Qualifications
- Candidates must have a strong desire to work in a construction environment and prior field construction experience will be considered an asset.
- Application of various computer software programs will be required, including word processing, spreadsheet applications and drafting.
Pay Range: $21.73 - $26.65
PCL Student wages are determined individually for each student based on the number of completed school terms, relevant work terms, kind of role and work location.
