As a Survey Student for PCL Constructors Westcoast Inc. in Richmond, British Columbia, you'll have the opportunity to support innovative infrastructure projects that shape the future of your community. As a student at PCL, you will get the opportunity for challenging work assignments in a supportive work environment which promotes personal and professional growth. We are seeking a Survey Student, for our BC Region district, within our Canadian Buildings Division that are available for 4 months starting in May 2026. This position will be under the direct supervisor of the District Surveyor
Here's how a Survey Student for PCL Constructors Westcoast Inc. within BC Region contributes to our team:
Responsibilities
- Reviewing structural, architectural, and shop drawings for use by survey field teams.
- Process and analyze survey data, point clouds, and drone data using various processing software.
- Assist survey field teams with roll out and execution of new and emerging survey technology.
- Assist district surveyor with administration and planning of survey within the BC district.
- Assist survey field teams with layout and as-builts on projects.
- Create overlays of survey information for different site planning software.
- Coordinating survey activity with field teams on behalf of the district surveyor.
Qualifications
- Candidates must have a strong desire to work in a construction survey environment and prior field construction experience or survey experience will be considered an asset.
- Good working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil3D.
- Good working knowledge of construction drawings.
- Application of various computer software programs will be required, including word processing, spreadsheet applications and drafting.
Pay Range: $19.88 - $24.38
PCL Student wages are determined individually for each student based on the number of completed school terms, relevant work terms, kind of role and work location.
