Here's how an Accountant for our Seattle District office contributes to our team:

Responsibilities

  • Collects and obtains approvals and processes through PCL business systems; all accounts payable and accounts receivable in a timely and accurate manner to meet all contract payment terms as per legislation, contract terms, and PCL policy and procedures.
  • Provides project team with various ad hoc reports and analysis as required.
  • Assists with year-end procedures as assigned.
  • Assembles client billings package in accordance with contract terms and conditions and follows up appropriately to ensure on-time payment.
  • Prepares bank deposits and enters cash receipts.
  • Effectively communicates with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Supports finance and commercial risk management with special assignments.
  • Develops and maintains strong customer focused relationships with all stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma.
  • Postsecondary degree or diploma in a related discipline an asset.
  • Six months to 1 year of accounting and/or administrative experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles, including maintenance of ledgers and cash-flows. 
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment, with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks with conflicting deadlines.
  • Ability to act with the required discretion when handling confidential information.
  • Strong organizational skills and high level of detail orientation with the ability to accurately prepare and enter financial information to meet deadlines and requirements.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective stakeholder relationships.
  • Basic skills using Microsoft Office Suite and knowledge and/or experience with accounting software an asset.
