We are seeking for Engineering Students for our Winnipeg District that are available for 4 months starting in September 2024.
As an Engineering Student and depending on your assigned project, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our team by:
Responsibilities
- Project Coordination
- Coordinating drawings
- Coordinating work specific scope / trades
- Conducting trade quote reviews – verify material quantities, verify hours, verify rates
- Participating in project meetings
- Conducting deficiency walks
- Inputting / Updating deficiency logs
- Issuing warranties
- Taking / Coordinating progress photos
- Updating field drawings
- Producing as-built drawings
- Field Coordination
- Performing quantity takeoffs
- Coordinating sub-trade work
- Verifying site conditions and coordinating with drawings
- Supervising sub-trade work
- Setting-up / Maintaining record keeping
- Layout site lines and grades using total station
- Scheduling:
- Updating project schedules
- Creating manual schedules
- Creating and updating schedules using Primavera P6 EPPM software
- Obtaining scheduling information from sub-trades
- Creating and maintaining graphical scheduling using AutoCAD.
- Monitoring workforce productivity
Qualifications
What you will bring to the role:
- Candidates must have a strong desire to work in a construction environment and prior field construction experience will be considered an asset.
- Application of various computer software programs will be required, including word processing, spreadsheet applications and drafting.
