Here's how a Scheduler for Construction PCL Inc. within Montreal district contributes to our team:

Responsibilities

  • Leads the development and management of integrated project schedules across all WBS levels, ensuring alignment with contractual milestones and project deliverables.
  • Facilitates interactive planning and scheduling sessions (e.g., pull planning, look-ahead planning, constraint analysis) with the project stakeholders to drive team alignment and schedule ownership.
  • Identifies and communicates schedule delays, impacts and variances to the PCL Baseline Schedule and recommends recovery strategies.
  • Conducts site walks to audit the short- and long-term plans. validating schedule accuracy with the project team.
  • Develops and maintains strong customer focused relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Apply a solid understanding of project controls and procedures to support schedule integrity and compliance.
  • Communicates with site staff and subcontractors to determine the actual construction progress, update schedules and provide regular reporting.
  • Communicates and presents schedule updates and complex schedule information to internal and external project stakeholders in a clear and actionable manner.
  • Contributes to the planning and scheduling process through various construction phases (preconstruction, construction, system completions, etc.).
  • Assists project management to create and monitor short term schedules and determine the impact on the master schedule.  

Qualifications

  • Minimum 7 years of industry experience.
  • 3-5 years of dedicated planning and scheduling with direct hire trades and subcontractors.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Primavera P6 EPPM.
  • Advanced skills using Microsoft Office Suite and other applicable systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of schedule analytics, including: - Critical Path Method (CPM), - Earned Value Analysis (EVA), - Quantitative Schedule Risk Analysis.
  • Proficiency with 3D/4D scheduling tools would be an asset.
  • Advanced understanding of planning and scheduling principles, best practices, and techniques.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction specifications, building materials, methods and procedures, and the ability to read and understand construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and proposal documents.
  • Hands-on experience with field construction operations, including logical sequencing of work from pursuit to closeout.
  • Effective listening, verbal, and written communication skills with the ability to negotiate and to present ideas and content that influence a favorable outcome.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment with multiple stakeholders including estimators, field supervision, subcontractors, project team and clients.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while prioritizing work for themselves and others, under strict timelines and being flexible to changing needs.
